WARRANTY ELIGIBILITY
Each new vehicle distributed by Renault New Zealand is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. This warranty is applicable only to vehicles imported by Renault New Zealand.
WARRANTY PERIOD
The Warranty period begins on the date of first registration.
OBTAINING REPAIRS
To obtain warranty repairs, take the vehicle to a Renault New Zealand Authorised Dealer within the warranty period.
NO CHARGE
Repairs covered by Warranty will be made at no charge to the customer
NOTE:
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under the Fair Trading Act.Furthermore, this warranty is not intended to modify, limit or exclude any rights you have under such statutes. To the extent permitted applicable law, in the case of any dispute that may arise with a Renault vehicle, the courts of New Zealand shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
This warranty covers repairs to correct manufacturing defects that occurring during the warranty period. Renault New Zealand will, at our discretion, repair or replace any original equipment components found to be defective under normal use and operation in New Zealand.
BATTERY
The battery installed in your Renault vehicle as original equipment by Renault, is covered by the full vehicle warranty.
BULBS
The replacement of light bulbs due to manufacturing defects will be made free of charge for the first 3,000km only.
BODY RATTLES / SQUEAKS
The rectification of body rattles and squeaks will be made free of charge for the first 3,000km only.
TYRES
Tyres are not covered by the Renault vehicle warranty but by the tyre manufactures warranty. Your Renault Authorised Dealer will be able to assist you if you have any questions on tyre warranty.
WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Regular wheel alignment is required annually and is not covered under warranty.
DAMAGE, COLLISION OR ACCIDENT. MISUSE, OR ALTERATIONS
Accidents or damage caused by collision, fire, theft, freezing, vandalism, riot, explosion or from objects striking the vehicle; misuse or abnormal use of the vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or other competition; and any non Renault authorised modifications and alterations to the vehicle. In addition, coverage does not apply if the odometer has stopped or been altered. Proper use is discussed in the Owner’s Manual.
DAMAGE OR SURFACE CORROSION FROM ENVIRONMENT
Damage or surface corrosion caused by airborne fallout (chemicals, tree sap, etc.), stones, hail, earthquake, water or flood, windstorm, sun/hand cream, lightening or other environmental conditions.
DAMAGE DUE TO LACK OF MAINTENANCE OR USE OF THE WRONG FUEL, OIL, OR LUBRICANTS
Defects, malfunctions or failures resulting from negligence, improper adjustments or repairs, installation of non-genuine parts, improper maintenance, lack of required maintenance or use of fuels, oils and/or lubricants other than those recommended in the Owner’s Manual.
MAINTENANCE AT THE OWNER’S EXPENSE
Normal or routine maintenance services, forced regeneration or cleaning of diesel particulate filter, cleaning and polishing, lubricating, inspections and replacing of drive belts, worn brake pads/linings, clutch disc, bulbs and wiper blades, adjustment of headlamps, wheel balancing, steering/wheel alignment, and performing other services required by the vehicle. See the Owner’s Manual.
EXTRA EXPENSES
This warranty does not cover any economic loss including (without limitation), payment for the loss of time or pay, inconvenience, loss of vehicle use, vehicle rental expense, loading bills, food, other travel costs, storage charges and other incidental or consequential loss or damage.
DAMAGE DUE TO OVERLOADING, IMPROPER BODY, MODIFICATIONS OR OTHERS
Any part of a vehicle which has been subject to overloading beyond the applicable weight rating. Special bodies, body conversions or equipment not manufactured by Renault. Any part of the vehicle which fails or malfunctions resulting from modification, alteration, tampering, disconnection, improper adjustments or repairs.
SCHEDULED SERVICES AND MAINTENANCE - OWNER RESPONSIBILTY
Regular preventative maintenance as per the recommended service intervals need to be followed.
Renault recommends that all servicing and maintenance on your vehicle be performed by an authorised Renault Dealer. Renault dealers are trained to provide high quality service and any other assistance that may be necessary. For more information please refer to servicing.
It is the Owner’s responsibility to have the services completed at the correct time or mileage, and to maintain Invoiced records of this.
Details of the completed scheduled services should be filled out in the scheduled service record section of Service Book by your authorised Renault servicing dealer.
SEVERE OPERATING CONDITIONS
Vehicles used under severe operating conditions must be serviced more frequently. Refer to your authorised Renault dealer for the appropriate terms and reduced maintenance intervals as specified in the Owner’s Manual.
ADDITIONAL SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
Extra maintenance is required for your Renault vehicle if it is operating through extreme conditions, or under any of the conditions below. For example, if you are regularly towing heavy loads or driving on rough roads, then more regular maintenance is necessary.
REGULAR CARE OF YOUR RENAULT
Regular checks as described in the Owner’s Manual should be carried out by the owner or driver.
Seek assistance from your Renault dealer should a repair be required.
CLEANING, WASHING AND WAXING
The vehicle should be washed using car care products at least once a month, or sooner if dirty. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for recommended cleaning tips and advice.
Any scratches in the paintwork should immediately be covered with touch-up paint to prevent corrosion.
