Overview

Pioneer of the MPV, Renault brings to Grand Scénic all its expertise in order to achieve maximum interior space. Grand Scénic retains all the versatility offered on Grand Scénic and adds new functions. With Grand Scénic, Renault couples the modularity and spaciousness of an MPV with saloon-style driving pleasure. It features a compact, dynamic design, setting it apart from the other compact MPVs and also benefits from top-range technological developments. Its design endows it with a distinctive personality that stands out from the general run of compact MPV models. Grand Scénic benefits from technical innovations developed by Renault for higher-range models, such as the automatic parking brake, as well as from the company's expertise in ve safety.

Innovative, compact and dynamic design

The one-box design and the "hatchback-style" rear treatment, contained within an overall length of only 4.25 metres suggest new levels of driving pleasure. Warm and welcoming, the cabin interior is equipped with a typically MPV dashboard with a centrally-mounted instrument panel. This makes it visible to all occupants and helps to better share information.

The best of the MPV

The gearchange and the automatic parking brake are mounted in the dashboard for optimum ergonomics and improved interior space layout. The floor space thus freed allows the installation of a new sliding central stowage compartment. Grand Scénic has five individual seats, each with 3-point safety belts, allowing ample space for any sort of cargo. The front passenger seat can be folded to form a flat, hard-surfaced table. This enables the back seat passengers to enjoy better visibility, while also making it easy to load very long objects. Stowage spaces in Grand Scénic are numerous, notably with the 15-litre sliding centre stowage compartment, easily accessible, and well divided between the front seats (44 litres) and the back seats (32 litres), creating a benchmark volume for the segment of 91 litres available in total.

Engine and transmissions

Grand Scénic has a 136bhp 2.0 16V petrol engine or a 130bhp 1.9 dCi diesel engine, both available with a four-speed flick-shift proactive automatic transmission

Excellence in safety

The Grand Scénic 5-star EURO NCAP score confirms Renault's supremacy in safety. With this score Grand Scénic is the first car in its segment vehicle to achieve such a high level of leading-edge performance, making it the safest car in its class. For greater peace of mind, Grand Scénic provides active safety of the highest order, with ABS and Emergency Brake Assist as standard. The structure of Grand Scénic includes many strengthened zones with programmed deformation. The restraint mechanisms of the third-generation Renault System for Restraint and Protection, with three-point safety belts for all seats, guarantee close coupling to the seats and ideal protection for all occupants. The Grand Scénic safety system includes up to six airbags including two adaptive frontal bags.
